  • Our website can be overwhelming if you've never had a session before! Add-ons and specialty services can be a lot, so take your time reading our website descriptions to make the perfect session for you. Our advice is to start by skimming our blog on the difference between swedish and deep tissue, and book our ‘General Massage’ if you can’t decide!

  • We always recommend speaking to your physicians about a care plan, and inquiring specifically about massage therapy. Most surgeries need at minimum a month of recovery, but you should always discuss first! 

    For illnesses such as the common cold or flu, we suggest a week of recovery to let you feel like your normal self again!

    Please note that these limitations do NOT apply to those seeing manual lymphatic drainage post-surgery!

  • Please list all allergens in your health history, and call our office staff at (814) 838-3622 to check about specifics. We’re always happy to investigate and make sure our products will work for you! 

    As for scents, we do not have any scented candles/lotions/etc. Some of our practitioners offer aromatherapy as a complimentary add-on for those that want a scent option in their lotion!

Scheduling Appointments

  • We require a card on file to secure appointments and manage our schedule efficiently. This ensures availability for all clients and protects against last-minute cancellations. Your information is securely stored, and never charged before a session without prior consent. Please give us a call if you have any questions!

  • Yes, our no-show fee is equal to the full cost of the scheduled service, which is charged if you are more than 15 minutes late without notifying us. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session to accommodate other clients. We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if you’re running late to avoid fees.

  • We accept debit and credit cards, checks, and cash! All of these options are also valid for gratuity.

    We accept FSA and HSA cards, and are happy to give you a receipt! We do not accept insurance, and are not taking new MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) clients.

    All gift cards expire after one year of inactivity. Lose your gift card before you could use it? Give us a call and we can help by searching through our records.

  • Our providers are in a service-based industry, so the choice is yours for whether you would like to add gratuity. Tips are never expected, but always appreciated!

Billing

  • At Monacella, massage is for EVERY body! A traditional massage table can hold up to 500 pounds, and a hydraulic table can hold up to 550 pounds before the therapist’s pressure. We want to help you relax and renew without the stress of weight on your mind. 

  • No two massages are the same, because everyone has different wants, needs, desires, and triggers. Not every massage needs to work on your whole body, especially if you’re only feeling tension in your neck and shoulders for example. Upper body and lower body massages are common!   

  • It can be hard to gauge how a treatment is affecting you when you’re in pain all the time. We encourage you to tell your practitioner if you’re in any pain, and communicate your needs for the session beforehand. 

  • You can’t relax unless you’re comfortable! Our practitioners always say “Whatever you’re comfortable with”, and they mean it. Clients tend to undress to just undergarments, even just underwear. If you’d like to keep a bra on, it’s suggested that you remove the straps from your shoulders. The choice is truly yours!

  • We usually recommend it! We have 2 bathrooms in-office.
