Meet Missy Hitz, LMT, BS

Missy Hitz launched Monacella Massage & Kinesiology in 2008 with a clear vision: to create a welcoming space where people could come to feel better, heal, and be supported. Drawing from her years as a massage therapy program director and a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Penn State Behrend, she built a practice rooted in knowledge, compassion, and a real commitment to client well-being. Her approach blends science and care, always putting people first.

With over two decades of experience in the wellness world, Missy has worn many hats—therapist, educator, mentor, and now, leader. What’s stayed consistent is her passion for helping others grow, whether that’s clients on their healing journey or fellow entrepreneurs just starting out. She’s deeply invested in the Erie community and has spent years building relationships and supporting small business growth, especially in the Downtown area.

Today, she leads our team, guiding the business behind the scenes while staying closely connected to the people and community that inspired it all. Outside of the office, she’s an active member of the Erie Downtown Partnership, the Mayor’s Business Council, and the GLIT MT Advisory Board, always looking for ways to give back and help shape the future of the city she loves.

In addition to her work in massage therapy, Missy is passionate about her Mary Kay business, where she helps women look and feel their best through skincare and makeup. She also mentors women interested in starting their own Mary Kay business, offering complimentary makeovers and skincare pampering sessions.
